I may be down but not quite out

An unexpected accident certainly flips one's world upside down.

FFF went out the window - no more exercise, no steps, no motivation beyond trying to get to the restroom before it's too late. Sigh.

I've got a bunch of tubes and things all around my knee; keeping it drained, cold, and clean.  Keeping me solitary, stuck, and sookie lala.

Eric is still out of the country.  Can't seem to find a way to come home early.  I could cry a river BUT
the flip side of an unexpected accident is the outpouring of friendship that is INCREDIBLE.

Friends and neighbors stop by three times a day and keep me fed, entertained, and feeling cared for.  My blogging buddies reach out through email, comments, and posts; keeping me moving forward and from slipping into a black hole. Eric calls and texts every chance he can get. I know he's trying to get back here. Meanwhile, I can't thank people enough for all of the prayers, good vibes, and motivating words.

Oh, and my boss? Not a word.  Guess he really is giving me a break.

So, here I sit, contemplating the world and working on some possible FFF goals I can put into motion without my body being put into motion.  Either way, tomorrow I'll be cheering the rest of you on!

  2. So glad to hear you rally. You are a fighter, Amy. Keep it up. Maybe download a new healthy eating book. That helps me focus and renew my goals. A good spanking novel wouldn't to hurt either!

  7. Eat healthy. Dont go bingeing on the chips and ice lollies. Snack healthily. And u’ll still be on track with FFF even tho you cant move right now. Doesnt have to be about exercise. U have other goals - read a book a week, write! Meditate :)

    1. I made the mistake of stepping on the scale today. HUGE increase since just five days ago. I looked up the side effects of all of the meds. Yep. Weight gain is high on the list. I'll quit looking at the scale. Doc says I can start exercising again in three months so I might as well just stop worrying about it. It is what it is but you are right, no need to make it worse with sugar and carb overloads.

    1. Thanks Roz. It was a huge shock to suddenly be swept into an emergency surgery and out of my daily life. It is what it is!

  11. Hey I have a couple of online ( self help- reflective type) courses I am taking. They involve meditation and journalling if you are interested? They are not for the faint of heart, but I always find they are helpful. And well they pass the time away. Just let me know!

Hope you get 'used' to the machines and sleep more easily. Are you allow Metatolin with your meds? Many people find it very effective. It does make me sleepy, but I tend to stay that way, and it gave our son a headache and made him super grumpy...but EVERYONE else I talked to loves it!

    1. Hi Willie!

Eric pulled a fast one and got home at 3 this morning. I actually slept in a bed last night and the fact is, with him wrapped around my body (though he was so worried about hurting me, he probably didn't get any sleep!) I slept the best I have since this whole thing. Going to spend the weekend with Eric so I'm happy and my time is filled for the next three days. When he goes back to work on Monday (in town - no travel until I'm on my feet again) I might take you up on those courses. He'll probably work 10 or 11 hour days. Have a great weekend.
