Eric really wants me to call him "Sir" and in my head,

I want to.  (That is a period.  The sentence should end there.)

"Don't end a sentence with a preposition."

Is "to" a preposition?

I think it is.

So... Eric really wants me to call him "Sir" and in my head,

I want to BUT I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.

  1. Barney asked me only once to do it. In a rather lighthearted, but not situation. SINCE you have asked, I will tell you. In *my* life being forced to say "sir' holds absolutely no value. None whatsoever . Why? Because there is no authenticity to it. It would be like throwing off a "Love you too" response to someone when you just don't feel it.

I will tell you I have said used the word/title , " Sir " before. ONCE. And I meant it at the time with every fiber of my being. The effect was instantaneous on Barney and lasted for a long while after. I won't tell you I know what was going through his head, but I assume it is because it came from me. Really from me and not 'forced' upon me. But that is us

I know others say it as some form of a submissive exercise, that wouldn't work for me. In time it would become rote and hold little value for either of us.

Good luck figuring you WHY you have such a difficult time with it, and then EXPRESSING that to Eric.

    1. Why, why, why, why, why... 1. I'm afraid to give up control and because I said I would never call him "Sir" I feel if I did, it would be a loss of control 2. I feel silly because I think it will not sound genuine and ultimately when I get to the point that I will give up control to him I want it to be genuine.

There are my answers. This ttwd stuff is tough! Amy

  2. I love calling Bear 'Sir' as it always makes him smile.

    Hugs Lindy

    1. I'll get there Lindy. I can just imagine Eric's smile when I finally do. He's a very patient man and won't force it but I know he'll love it when I finally come around. Amy
